Sustainability
Protecting resources through everyday hospitality choices
Hotel UMass is constantly coming up with ways to protect the environment, preserve natural resources, and reduce costs.
Note: We do not have glass bottles available.

Key Cards
On average, a 100-room hotel experiences a loss of roughly 6,000 plastic hotel key cards and sleeves per year. Across hotels in the United States, more than 750 tons of plastic hotel key cards and sleeves are placed in American landfills each year. Hotel UMass is working to reduce its carbon footprint with 85% PVC-free keycards.

Paperless Arrival & Departure
Guests now experience a paperless arrival and departure during their stay, reducing printed materials while keeping check-in and check-out simple.

Clean The World
More than 2 million bars of partially used hotel soap are thrown away every day in the United States. Hotel UMass has partnered with Clean the World to recycle soap and other discarded hygiene products, helping save lives with items that traditionally end up in landfills.
